Salesforce Spring 23 Release: Top Features for Admins & Users

The Spring ’23 release has brought some exciting new features that will make life easier for your Users and Admins. This release promises to deliver a range of benefits for Salesforce users.

Whether you’re a seasoned administrator or just getting started with Salesforce, there’s something for everyone in the Spring ’23 release. This blog will delve into the key new releases and explore how they will impact the daily work of Salesforce users. Get ready to streamline your work processes, boost productivity, and experience the full potential of the Salesforce platform.

New Features for Users

1. Log a Call from the Activities Component

A Convenient Spring ’23 Features for Case Management is said to be logging a Call from the Activities Component.

When working with case records in Lightning Experience, one of them is logging a call straight from the Activities component. This is an excellent addition as it allows your agents to interact with case records like they can with other Salesforce objects. This feature will make your agents’ jobs easier by simplifying the procedure.

2. Speed Up Your Process

The Dynamic Activity Composer is designed to create case management activities faster and more efficiently. This feature allows reps to create activities using buttons rather than the traditional tabbed activity composer.

Additionally, the dropdown menus have more options, such as choosing from multiple email addresses when sending an email and quickly accessing email preferences or adding emails to a to-do list. This new feature is expected to save time and increase user efficiency.

3. Get Personalized and Detailed Insights

The recent updates to the report and dashboard features in the platform are designed to provide more personalized and detailed insights for users. The ability to create personalized report filters allows users to filter results based on their user field. By selecting the option to “Use relative value,” the filter will automatically populate with the current user’s information.

4. Manage Data Access

Better understand which reports, dashboards, and users are subscribing to other analytic assets—for example, a brief report displays when subscriptions run and who sets them up. Users can easily keep up with scheduling and limits because of this. Furthermore, Analytic Notifications users may construct custom report types to see the source, owner, running user, and schedule of subscriptions.

New Features for Admins

1. Enhancements to Picklist Management

Salesforce has introduced new features to streamline Picklist Management. You can now bulk delete inactive values of custom picklists to improve system limitations on inactive values and use custom picklists to enforce them to maintain the overall health of your organization.

Additionally, you can bulk manage custom picklist values, including deleting, activating, deactivating, or replacing multiple values at once. Now generally available, these features are restricted to custom picklists with predetermined values. The update reduces the number of inactive picklist values in a custom picklist field in an effort to improve the health and performance of the organization.

2. Enhancements to FLOWS

a. Element Description in the Flow Canvas

The Spring ’23 release has introduced a new feature that will make it easier for administrators to understand and work with details in the flow canvas. The new feature allows users to view the element description by simply hovering over or right-clicking on an element. The element description provides details on the element’s function. This can be useful when working with complex or unfamiliar elements or troubleshooting an issue with a flow.

b. Data Tables

The Spring ’23 release has made data tables available, empowering administrators to work with data tables more efficiently. The data table feature, generally available in Winter ’23, now allows administrators to create data tables directly within the platform, making it easier to manage and display large amounts of data. This feature eliminates the need for LWC components and gives administrators more control over how data is presented.

c. Field Preview

Another feature is the Field Preview. When adding new columns to a data table, administrators can preview the data for those fields before they are added. This allows administrators to quickly verify that the data is accurate and consistent and make necessary adjustments before publishing the data table. This feature saves time and effort by enabling administrators to identify and fix errors before they become a problem.

Spring 23 new releases

In Salesforce Flow, use SOSL to search for individuals. There will be no more “Iteration Limit Exceeded” errors in Salesforce Flow.

3. Enhancements to Lightning App Builder

Customizable Forecast Pages: Create desktop forecast pages that provide all of the information sales leaders need to produce reliable forecasts that support your specific organization.

Save Options with Dynamic Forms: Add a save option when creating, modifying, or copying a case, lead, or account using Dynamic Forms.

Dynamic Related Lists: Using a single component and the Lightning App Builder, admins may define and filter related lists. Dynamic related lists now feature a View All link, like other related lists, so users can see a complete list of associated records. Within the comprehensive related list that their admin applied, users can also set quick filters.

4. Enhanced Migrate to Tool

An enhanced Migrate to Flow tool was added in the Spring ’23 version allowing users to transform workflow rules and Process Builder procedures into flows. This feature can help you simplify your processes, work more efficiently, and achieve your business goals faster. The tool is available in multiple Salesforce editions but only supports record-triggered processes.

You can go to Setup > Migrate to flow and follow the steps to convert your operation to flow. Please note that processes with scheduled actions, custom metadata types, and field traversals aren’t supported.

5. Multi-factor Authentication Auto-enablement
